Trela Anderson is a Ph.D. fellow in English / Creative Writing at UL Lafayette. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1971 and received a B.A. in English from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1994. Three years later, she received an M.A. in English with a concentration in creative writing from the University of Georgia. Her writing interests are creative nonfiction and poetry, and she is currently working on a memoir entitled The Cinderella Stories, which recollects various experiences with her grandmother Cinderella Whitfield. She has taught freshman composition at UL and a creative nonfiction workshop at Hanson Memorial High School in Franklin, Louisiana. In 1998 she received the Webb Award for excellence in teaching at UL.
